Healing happens in relationship
Therapy can be a safe space to bring even the disowned and wounded parts of ourselves back into healing relationship

Approach
As a therapist, I draw a lot from Hakomi, a mindfulness-based somatic therapy modality, and I believe that our innate wisdom arises from our bodies. I bring deep attunement to and trust in the body, and at times invite awareness to body movements or patterns that may be below your conscious awareness: often our bodies understand how to heal before our minds do. In sessions, I offer my compassionate relationship and guidance, and my style is attachment-focused meaning that I care a lot about tending to early-life relationship wounds. Pacing is important in therapy and trust takes time; so we can take our time and oftentimes slowing down is a medicine many of us aren’t given enough of. My style is warm, collaborative, and at times directive. I weave in somatics, parts work, ecotherapy, transpersonal, mindfulness, Process Work, and psychodynamic therapies, among others.

Healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum: we are shaped by our cultures, systems, and the contexts in which we have lived. So it's important that we can talk about aspects of identity (class, race, sexuality, ability, gender, age, and more) because the interplay between each identity we have impacts our life experience. Sometimes we must also presence the fact that when we are healing, we are doing so within systems that are actively traumatizing — and we must tend to that grief and pain. I am always decolonizing my own body and mind so that I show up most wholly and clearly, and I welcome feedback and conversation about my own limitations or blind spots.

About me
Growing up, I didn't know anyone who went to therapy. As an adult, when I started to understand that I'd been navigating c-ptsd my whole life and was a Highly Sensitive Person, therapy became an essential part of my path — a place where I could pull rejected and abandoned parts of myself out from hiding and shame, and risk being truly vulnerable. I'm indebted to many teachers, among them my therapists, who taught me and continue to teach me to trust myself and life. The land of the southwest high desert, where I grew up, and the ocean are two of my fiercest teachers. The wild earth has taught me a lot about healing and wholeness: I learn more all the time about how nature is a larger nervous system to plug into, which can offer healing and holding in ways not all human relationships can. In my free time, I ever so slowly learn to play the guitar, try to remember to dance, work with plant medicines, and tend to my home, spirit, and relationships.
I practice and live on the traditional homelands of the Kalapuya indigenous people — otherwise called Eugene, OR. I am a Professional Counselor Associate at Alive Counseling Clinic.
My preferred pronouns are they/she.
